Problem Note 63183: The date value is missing when you bulk load an Oracle table using the Direct Path API
When you use SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Oracle, you get a missing value for a SAS variable with a DATE format when you bulk load an Oracle table using the Direct Path API. This issue occurs when your SAS system runs on an operating system with a big-endian byte sequence, such as Solaris.
Here is an example:
libname db oracle user=user-ID pw=password path=host-string;
proc append base = db.oracle_date_data
(bulkload=yes
bl_load_method=append
bl_api_bulkload=yes
bl_direct_path=yes)
data = test_date;
run;
To work around this issue, use the regular bulk-loading process rather than the Direct Path API bulk-loading process.
